Slovenian Ambassador accredited to Nepal, H.E. Mrs. Darja Bavdaz - Kuret met with Pashupathi Murarka, President of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) in FNCCI Secretariat today and discussed on mutual interest between two nations. The meeting also attended by FNCCI Senior Vice President, Bhawani Rana and Dharanidhar Khatiwada, Director General of FNCCI dealt on issues including, economic, business and investment relationship and technology transfer between the two countries.
During the occasion, welcoming H.E Ambassador, President Murarka stressed on the prospect of joint investment in the energy sector of Nepal. Stating that Nepal was in dire need of foreign investment at the present context, he asked H.E Ambassador to help Nepal get Slovenian investment through the diplomatic channel.
Slovenian Ambassador accredited to Nepal, H.E. Mrs. Darja Bavdaz - Kuret opined that there was a huge prospect of economic and business relationship between the two countries and stressed that the prospect should be turned into the reality. He figured out joint collaboration in the sectors like hydropower, solar energy, waste management and food processing, among others. He also conveyed his confidence that there will be the appointment of Slovenian Consulate General in Nepal at the earliest.
According to a data, Nepal imported goods worth 117,000 US $ from Slovenia while exported goods worth 347,000 US $ from Slovenia in the fiscal year 2013-14. The data shows Nepal supplied goods particularly, handicraft items to Slovenia while received telephone and motorcycle accessories for that country.

नेपाल उद्योग वाणिज्य महासंघका अध्यक्ष पशुपति मुरारकासंग नेपालका लागि दिल्लीस्थित स्लोभेनियाका राजदुत दर्जा वाभदाज-कुरेत (H.E. Mrs. Darja Bavdaz -Kuret, Slovenian Ambassador accredited to Nepal) ले आज महासंघ सचिवालयमा भेट गर्नुभई नेपाल र स्लोभेनिया बीचको आपसीहितका विषयमा छलफल गर्नुभयो ।
महासंघका वरिष्ठ उपाध्यक्ष भवानी राणा र महानिर्देशक धरणीधर खतिवडाको उपस्थिति रहेको सो छलफल कार्यक्रममा दुई देश बीच आर्थिक, व्यापारिक, लगानी, प्रविधि हस्तान्तरण लगायतका विषयमा छलफल भयो ।
सो अवसरमा राजदूतको स्वागत गर्नुहुंदै महासंघका अध्यक्ष मुरारकाले नेपालमा उर्जा क्षेत्रमा संयुक्त लगानीको सम्भाव्यता रहेको वताउनु भयो । उहांले नेपालका लागि यतिखेर विदेशी लगानीको जरुरी रहेकाले कुटनीतिक तवरबाट नेपालमा स्लोभेनियाली लगानी आकर्षणका लागि आग्रह गर्नुभयो ।
स्लोभेनियाका राजदुत दर्जा वाभदाज-कुरेतले दुई देश बीचको आर्थिक व्यापारिक सम्भाव्यता निकै धेरै रहेकाले सम्भाव्यतालाई यथार्थमा रुपान्तरण गर्नुपर्नेमा जोडदिनु भयो । उहांले जलविद्युत, सौर्य उर्जा, फोहर व्यवस्थापन, खाद्यान्न प्रशोधन लगायतका क्षेत्रमा सहकार्यको सम्भाव्यता औल्याउनु भयो । साथै उहांले नेपालका लागि छिट्टै स्लोभेनियाका महावाणिज्य दूत नियुक्ति हुने विश्वास समेत दिलाउनु भयो ।
एक तथ्यांक अनुसार नेपालले सन् २०१३-१४ मा अमेरिकी डलर ३४७,००० मुल्य वरावरका नेपाली वस्तुहरु स्लोभेनियातर्फ निकासी गरेको र त्यहांबाट अमेरिकी डलर ११७,००० मुल्य वरावरका वस्तुहरु नेपालमा आयात पाइन्छ । नेपालले विशेष गरि हस्तकलाका सामानहरु त्यसतर्फ निर्यात गरेको पाइन्छ भने त्यहांबाट टेलिफोन तथा मोटरसाइकलका पार्टपूर्जाहरु नेपालमा आयात गरेको पाइन्छ ।
