Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) President Pashupati Murarka, along with other office bearers, held a meeting with Mr. Arshed Saud Khosa, Ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal, today at the FNCCI Secretariat.
The meeting, also participated by FNCCI Senior Vice President Bhawani Rana and Director General Dharanidhar Khatiwoda, dealt with issues including expansion of business between Nepal and Pakistan, joint venture investment, air connectivity, business visits, and trade fairs, among others.
During the occasion, welcoming Ambassador Arshed to the FNCCI, President Murarka stated that Nepal has a huge potential for mega investment in areas such as agri-processing, tourism, leather, engineering, herbal products, pharmaceuticals, education sectors, and requested the Embassy of Pakistan to facilitate to promote investment from Pakistan.
He also highlighted that there is a huge possibility to work together in many sectors such as, handicraft industries, trade fairs, and tourism, among others, and in this regard FNCCI and its counterpart FPCCI, can work together and boost the bilateral trade and investment for mutual benefit. He also suggested that, in order to further this mutual beneficial relationship, both countries should establish and increase the air connectivity, exchange of business delegations and visits, and share information on business opportunities.
Responding in the meeting, Ambassador Arshed assured FNCCI that he would convey the suggestions and views expressed by FNCCI to the concerned sectors of Pakistan, and the Embassy of Pakistan would facilitate to promote greater economic relations between the two countries, especially to harness and boost the mutual trade, tourism and investment. He also assured to facilitate to increase the regular interactions and meetings between FNCCI and FPCCI so that the apex private sector organizations of both countries can nurture their relationship and identify mutually beneficial areas of cooperation.
